KLM Offers Customers Wider Choice of Destinations

klm_amsterdam-001KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has added two new intercontinental destinations to its 2016 winter schedule, namely Miami in the US and Colombo in Sri Lanka. In addition, daily service will be operated to Havana in Cuba and KLM will continue operating extra flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia during the winter.

“KLM took the first bold steps towards recovery in 2015 and we are now starting to reap the benefits”, said Pieter Elbers – KLM President & CEO. “KLM is investing in its network and offering its customers an even wider choice of destinations.”

On October 30, KLM’s first flight to Miami will depart after an absence of more than 4.5 years. The airline will operate thrice-weekly service to Miami, departing from Schiphol on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, and returning from Miami on the same days. Flights will be operated with and Airbus A330-200, with 30 seats in World Business Class seats and 213 seats in Economy Class.

From October 31 and throughout the winter season, KLM will operate twice-weekly service to Colombo, departing from Schiphol on Mondays and Fridays, and returning from Colombo on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The flights will be operated with the latest addition to KLM’s intercontinental fleet: the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which has 30 seats in World Business Class, 48 seats in Economy Comfort and 216 seats in Economy Class. The flight to Colombo marks KLM’s return to the city after an absence of almost 20 years.

Moreover, due to strong demand, KLM will also increase flight frequency to Cuba and Malaysia at the end of October, operating daily service to Havana.

KLM will also continue operating extra flights to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia during the winter season. KLM this summer had increased flight frequency to the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur from seven to ten weekly flights. KLM and Malaysia Airlines have cooperated closely over the past twenty years and have a code-sharing agreement between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur.

Flights to intercontinental destinations Astana in Kazakhstan and Salt Lake City in the US that were launched in the summer, will continue in the airline’s 2016 winter schedule.
