Vintage Cars Hit Mykonos in True Style
Classic car lovers and drivers will have the chance to enjoy some great fun in the sun on the most famous of Greek islands during the Mykonos Olympic Classic Rally, to take place on the Cycladic isle on October 21-23.
The Mykonos Olympic Classic Rally kicks off in true style on October 21 at 1.30pm in front of Mykonos Town Hall and comes to a close at the finish line on October 23 at 10.30am.
“Extroversion; this is the priority of the municipality’s communication strategy in our efforts to establish a tourist identity for the island. With our cultural heritage as a foundation we aim to promote our island in a modern and efficient way. Besides its aesthetic value, the vintage car race offers the ground to upgrade our tourist product and extend the tourist season,” Mykonos Mayor Konstantinos Koukas said.
The three-day event centers around a 300km route with stops at major Mykonos highlights including the Panagia Tourliani Monastery in Ano Mera, Panormos, Ornos, Ftelia, Armenistis with its legendary lighthouse, and Kalo Livadi.
Organized by the Mykonos Municipality, the Greek Motorsport Federation (OMAE) and OutlLoud Event Services, the Mykonos Classic Rally will count as the seventh round of the FIA Trophy for Historic Regularity Rallies and as the third round of the corresponding Greek championship.
