The World Travel Awards — hailed as the “Oscars” of the travel industry — were announced during a dazzling ceremony at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, Italy, in early September. Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the tourism industry.

“The Hotel Grande Bretagne will carry on creating exceptional, indigenous experiences for its guests and remaining an eternal reference point for the country’s and city’s political, economic and social life” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

The World Travel Awards brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.
