Thirty Lighthouses in Greece Open to the Public on Sunday, August 21

The Greek navy will open the doors to 30 of Greece’s lighthouses on Sunday, August 21, on the occasion of International Lighthouse Day.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn all about the importance of lighthouses and the role of lighthouse keepers.

The lighthouses in the following 30 Greek destinations will be open to the public from 10 am to 7 pm:

  1. Agios Nikolaos – Kea
  2. Akrotiri – Thira
  3. Arkitsa – Fthiotida
  4. Avlida – Viotia
  5. Vasilina – Evia
  6. Vrysaki – Lavrio
  7. Gerogombos – Kefalonia
  8. Gourouni – Skopelos
  9. Drepano – Achaia
  10. Drepano – Chania
  11. Kassandra – Chalkidiki
  12. Katakolo – Ilia
  13. Keri – Zakynthos
  14. Kranai – Gythio
  15. Lakka – Paxi
  16. Megalo Emvolo – Thessaloniki
  17. Melagkavi – Loutraki
  18. Plaka – Lemnos
  19. Skinari – Zakynthos
  20. Sousaki – Korinthos
  21. Spathi – Serifos
  22. Psaromyta – Fokida
  23. Kokkinopoulo – Psara
  24. Alexandroupoli – Alexandroupoli
  25. Tainaron – Laconia
  26. Koprena – Arta
  27. Kaki Kefali – Chalkida
  28. Thessaloniki
  29. Monemvasia – Laconia
  30. Dana – Poros
