Athens Metro, Electric Train and Tram Employees Announce Work Stoppages

Work stoppages on the metro, the Kifissia-Piraeus electric railway (ISAP) and the tram network in Athens are scheduled to take place for the next two weeks, from Monday, June 6, until Friday, June 17, as transport staff are protesting the government’s decision to privatize public transport.

According to an announcement, the work stoppages schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, June 6: work stoppage from the beginning of service until 10am
  • Wednesday, June 8: work stoppage from 12 noon to 4pm
  • Friday, June 10: work stoppage from 10pm until the end of services
  • Monday, June 13: work stoppage from the beginning of service until 10am
  • Wednesday, June 15: work stoppage from 9pm until the end of services
  • Friday, June 17: work stoppage from 12 noon until 5pm
