peloponnese_danish_fam_3Ten journalists from Denmark recently took part in a familiarization (fam) trip to the Peloponnese and explored what the destination has to offer travellers. The fam trip was held two weeks before Kalamata begins welcoming visitors from Copenhagen and Billund via Aegean Airlines direct flights scheduled to launch on May 16.

The fam trip was organized by High Connect DMS, representative of Primera Travel Group – Bravo Tours and included visits to Messinia and Argolida.

The Danish journalists were first taken to Messinia, toured the beaches and visited the Peloponnese destinations of Pylos, Finikounda, Methoni, Koroni and Kalamata.

peloponnese_danish_fam_2The fam trip was held during the Greek Orthodox Easter holiday and journalists experienced the Epitaph Procession in Costa Navarino and then sampled traditional Greek Easter dishes in a tavern located in Tolo.

When in Argolida, the 10-member group visited Nafplio, Tolo, Vivari and Kandia.

The Kalamata-Denmark airline connection will run until October 30 with two flights per week. The flights are expected to attract over 6,000 tourists to the Peloponnese, opening new prospects for tourism in the region.

The fam trip was held under the auspices of the Peloponnese Region.
