“Openness and tourism are key pillars for the development of Piraeus… this said, we are making efforts to showcase Piraeus as a major tourist destination. This celebration is expected to attract thousands of visitors to Piraeus, placing our city and campaign ‘Destination Piraeus’ in the spotlight and paving the way for the ‘Sea Days 2016, Go Piraeus!’ events (May 28),” Piraeus Mayor Yiannis Moralis told a press conference this week.

Other issues raised during the press conference were taking measures to ensure the construction of yachts at Greek shipyards as well as for the targeted promotion of Greece’s marine tourism.
