Heraklion Port Authority Gets Thumbs Up for Best Practices
The Heraklion Port Authority (HPA) is collecting awards for its best practices, projects and initiatives, which aim to ensure sustainability and competitiveness, with the latest on Tuesday, during the Facilities Management Awards, held in Athens.
The HPA clinched silver for the “Impact on Sustainability”, for the successful upgrade of port infrastructure, specialized facility management and improved quality of services offered – all with sustainability as a key priority.
At the same time, as part of efforts to boost experiential tourism, the HPA is implementing a comprehensive plan titled the “Five Senses” campaign to combine the benefits of cruise tourism with culture and agricultural through strategic private and public partnerships.
“Our aim is to surpass the expectations of our visitors every single time,” said HPA chairman and managing director Ioannis Bras.
“Our participation in these awards is all about highlighting the contribution of effective management of facilities to sustainability and competitiveness and to underline resultant benefits to both the local community and the national economy,” he added.
