The Athens – Attica & Argosaronic Hotel Association (AHA) is proud to announce that it has actively contributed to the promotion of the 33rd “Athens Marathon. The Authentic”, which kicks off on November 8, through a series of initiatives in the run-up to the mega sporting event.
Among others it has worked closely with the public and private sector to establish a network of cooperating bodies and enterprises, managed with the support of marketeers Nelios to set up the event’s official website — www.athensauthentic.com — cooperated with Marketing Greece to launch the “Be an Athens Pace-setter” campaign, which invites participants and spectators to use the hashtag #athensauthenticmarathon to share their Athens Marathon experience on websites, blogs and social media.
Additionally, AHA members will be hosting eight marathon runners (also writers and bloggers) from the UK, France and Germany, who will cover the event. It launched the “Marathon Hotels” initiative, which thus far has 30 AHA member hotels offering discounts, gifts and special offers to Marathon participants, it worked with shops and businesses to establish the “Marathon Shops”, where special prices on goods and services will apply as of November 1 and for two weeks after the Marathon. And finally collaborated with art spaces, cultural venues and museums for the organization of special Marathon-related events in the run-up to the running race which puts Greece in the international spotlight every year.
