Gentlemen, Start Your Engines: Seajets Acropolis Rally Ready for Action
Race car lovers take your seats as some of the world’s best drivers participate in the annual Seajets 2015 Acropolis Rally, to kick off this Saturday, in front of the “Dionysos” restaurant, at the foot of the Acropolis in Athens.
The race, which includes a variety of surfaces and difficulty levels, welcomes European champions Craig Breen in a Peugeot 208 T16 and Kajetan Kajetanowicz in his Ford Fiesta R5 ready to go head to head in the Greek mountains as they vie for the title.
In the meantime, Greek crews Lambros Athanassoulas-Nikos Zakheos in a Skoda Fabia R5 and Lambros Kirkos-George Polizois at the wheel of a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX will also be among those competing for the top prize.
The world renowned Rally Acropolis is made possible thanks to the support of shipping company Seajets, which inked a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Hellenic Motorsport Federation (OMAE).
Since 2009, the rally’s headquarters and service park are based in the seaside town of Loutraki, near Corinth.
Founded in 1989, Seajets has since provided high quality services in sea transportation with over 140 connections from Piraeus, Rafina and Crete to the Cyclades.
In the meantime, traffic measures have been announced for the Rally Acropolis on October 10:
- Parking at the “DionysosBytheAcropolis” restaurant will be closed on Saturday between 6am and 6pm.
- Parking along Rovertou Galli St will be prohibited.
- Rovertou Galli St will be closed to traffic as of 11am.
Rovertou Galli St will be closed from Propylaeon St at 1.30pm
