US, Scandinavian Travelers Pay More, Stay Less in Greece, Trivago Finds
American and Scandinavian travelers spent more between July and August this year on their stays in Greece, but shortened their holidays, according to online booking agent trivago.gr’s report released on Thursday.
US visitors paid an average nightly rate (for double room) of 183 euros, opting to holiday for four days on average. Norwegians spent 173 euros, preferring a six-day vacation.
The Swedes paid a little less at 144 euros for approximately five nights, while travelers from Finland spent 132 euros for about five days.
The British spent some 156 euros for an overnight stay, while the Germans even less at 122 euros per night.
Greek holidaymakers meanwhile, paid 94 euros on average for nightly accommodation.
Research for the report was conducted based on searches between February 1 and May 11, for travel completed from July 1 to August 31.
