Ellinair Announces New Winter Routes to Athens and Izmir from Thessaloniki

Greek carrier Ellinair announced on Wednesday that it will launch two daily flights between Athens and Thessaloniki next month, as part of its winter 2015-2016 flight schedule.

The service will begin as of October 15 via Airbus A319 aircraft due to increased demand.

The airline also announced that due to popular demand the seasonal ThessalonikiHeraklion route will continue into the winter season, offering three flights a week, every Friday, Sunday and Monday. The route was initially planned to operate until September 28.

International network

On September 24, Ellinair will inaugurate a new nonstop service to Izmir Adnan Menderes International Airport from Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport.

The new service, expected to boost tourist traffic in Thessaloniki during the winter season, will run until the end of March with a frequency of two weekly routes, every Tuesday and Saturday.

Ellinair’s international flights to Moscow, Kiev, Mineralnye Vody, Rostov and Tbilisi will continue during the winter.
