The Greek Connection: Hollywood Insists… #VisitGreece
Oscar winning superstar Tom Hanks and Greek-Canadian actress and screenwriter Nia Vardalos are telling everyone to #VisitGreece.
Besides being avid Greece lovers, the two Hollywood performers have been active in promoting Greece and its tourism offerings through the social media and in interviews across the media spectrum.
Vardalos, behind 2002 blockbuster My Big Fat Greek Wedding, is pushing for Greece via her own Instagram account hashtagging #VisitGreece and inviting young and old to visit the Parthenon and the Aegean islands, swim in the deep blue waters and enjoy Athens’ vibrant nightlife.
Both Vardalos and Hanks, who is married to actress Rita Wilson, holiday often in Greece, with the former touring the islands just last week and meeting up with Hanks on Amorgos, where parts of Luc Besson’s 1988 production The Big Blue were filmed.
Hanks and Wilson own a holiday house on the Cycladic island of Antiparos.
