Popular Demand Brings Second Athens 5km Marathon Run, Registration Starts July 28

Due to popular demand, the Hellenic Athletic Association (SEGAS) is organizing a second evening 5km race ahead of Athens Marathon on November 8, and registration opens on Tuesday, July 28.

Spots for the original 5km and 10km races within the Athens Marathon events were taken up in two days, demonstrating the keen interest of individual runners to participate in the country’s largest annual sporting event.

With the announcement of a second 5km race, within the framework of the Athens Marathon, SEGAS hopes to attract even more individual athletes to the event.

The 2nd race will be held in the evening of November 8 between 4pm and 5.30pm (on the same day with the first 5km run), and is open to 4,000 runners.

The course, registration fee and race day apparel and support are the same for the afternoon road race. Participants cannot register for both events.
