Greek Seamen Call Off 24-hour Strike Planned for June 30
The Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) has announced that it is calling off a 24-hour strike planned for Tuesday, June 30, due to the recent developments in Greece.
The federation was scheduled to stage a 24-hour strike on Tuesday over issues concerning their collective labor contracts, unpaid wages, uninsured labor and unemployment.
Greece’s passenger ferry service was expected to be seriously disrupted due to the announced action.
In an announcement on Saturday, PNO said that the strike the action was not cancelled but merely suspended to a later date to be decided by its management.
