Greek Hotel GM Wins Coveted EHMA Award for First Time
Panos Almyrantis, GM of Crete’s Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas, was awarded the 2014 European Hotel Manager of the Year Award during the 42nd general meeting of the European Hotel Managers Association (EHMA) held on April 17-19 in Geneva, Switzerland.
During his tenure, Mr Almyrantis has achieved international recognition and awards for Daios Cove, including the Global Luxury Coastal Resort 2014, World Luxury Hotel Award, Europe’s Best Luxury Family Hotel 2013 and Condé Nast Traveler Russia’s 2013 Best Beach Hotel in the World. Daios Cove Luxury Resort & Villas has also been a TripAdvisor Travelers Choice since 2011.
“We are more than thrilled. Mr Almyrantis has made us extremely proud as it is the first time since the founding of EHMA in 1974 that a Greek hotel manager wins the coveted award,” said Stefanos Stefanou, national EHMA representative Greek-Cypriot chapter.
This year’s meeting focused on innovation and rapid changes in technology applied to digital communication as a means of understanding customer trends and habits. EHMA members meet once a year to discuss sector-related issues including new technologies, trends, relations, European hotel data and market research.
Established in Rome in 1974, the EHMA is a non-profit-making association with over 440 members from 29 European countries.
