The Westin Resort Costa Navarino Goes Dark for ‘Earth Hour’ Initiative
The Westin Resort Costa Navarino in Messinia joined the global initiative “Earth Hour” and went dark on Saturday March 28, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm, to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate changes.
“By participating in a global initiative such as the Earth Hour, The Westin Resort Costa Navarino also underscored parent Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s dedication to environmental sustainability”, an announcement by the hotel’s management read.
Earth Hour is a global effort to emphasize the threat of global warming and the need to reduce carbon emissions.
To participate to the initiative The Westin Resort Costa Navarino implemented an array of activities, such as Spa treatments under complete candle lit environment, special candlelight yoga sessions, bonfire lit at 8:30 pm, Dine in the Dark in all restaurants, served by candlelight and more.
Further, all guests were called to participate in the movement by sharing their “green” or sustainable way of thinking by uploading their capture/video with the following hashtag: #WestinNavarinoEH15.
