Greeks Pick Rome, Corfu For Easter Fun
Rome and Corfu top Greek travellers’ choices for the upcoming Easter holidays, according to online booking agent trivago.gr, with London, Istanbul and Paris in their first five picks.
The Ionian island of Corfu comes 7th in Greeks’ choice destinations for Easter. In the meantime, New York has as of late made it into the Top 15 selections at No 12.
According to trivago.gr research conducted between January 1 and February 10, Greeks have changed their travel habits, preferring international destinations instead of Greek locations for their Easter holidays.
At the same time, all the more Italian tourists are selecting Greece for their holidays, followed by Poles, who place Greece among their top 15 picks for Easter, the British, the Spanish and the Austrians.
Germans seem to prefer Cyprus for their Easter trip, as do Serb, British and Greek holidaymakers.
With regards to popularity and price changes of Greek cities customarily selected for Easter holidays, Corfu — a traditional Easter destination within Greece — has boosted prices (for double room) by 22 percent, Athens by 12 percent, Thessaloniki by 5 percent and Nafplio by 3 percent.
