Spiros Pengas takes on Thessaloniki Tourism Portfolio

Spiros_Pengas_headshotSpiros Pengas, Deputy Mayor for Tourism and International Relations and Council Member of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, has been appointed by Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris to take over all responsibilities concerning tourism issues.

Mr. Pengas will supervise and coordinate all actions related to the development of tourism in Thessaloniki and the destination’s promotion on a national and international level.

He will also be responsible for collaborations with organizations for the planning of tourism development programs and actions and the upgrading of offered services to guests.

His responsibilities will include the promotion of local tourism products and the handling of issues regarding the city’s relations with twin cities abroad.

Mr. Pengas will also oversee the municipality’s participation in national, European or international tourism development and educational programs.

In addition, he will supervise the implementation of European Programs, following their approval by Mayor Boutaris.
