Conde Nast Traveler Places Semiramis in Athens among Most Colorful Hotels
Leading travel magazine Conde Nast Traveler has included Semiramis in Athens, Greece, on a list of the most colorful hotels that are sure to “brighten your next vacation”.
According to Conde Nast Traveler, the hotels on the list do not just integrate color into their design scheme, but “color is the design scheme”.
On Semiramis, Conde Nast Traveler notes that the hotel — a creation of interior architect and industrial designer Karim Rashid and art collector Dakis Joannou — is an “ode” to modern art:
“By day, sun umbrellas and the patterned tiles of the hotel pool bathe the patio in green, blue, and pink. By night, the hotel’s facade is illuminated in lime green and orange. The 52 rooms are blanketed in color and feature light-box art installations above the beds and translucent furniture in vibrant hues. Public areas at the Semiramis are equally colorful and eclectic and house gallery space for art exhibitions.”
Other colorful hotels on the list include The Saguaro (Palm Springs, California), MEININGER Hotel (Berlin, Germany), Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam (Zaandam, Netherlands), Inn at John O’Groats (John O’Groats, Scotland), Hotel Crayon (Paris, France) and Pantone Hotel (Brussels, Belgium).
