WWF Greece Goes Underground, Takes the Bus

Twenty-five participants will have the chance to explore Athens public transport on Thursday, as part of WWF Greece latest awareness raising campaign to improve the everyday standard of living of Athens residents.

WWF_GreeceAt 11am on Thursday, participants will go on a tour of the Athens metro works beginning with the Korydallos construction site, where they will learn more about the planning and construction involved.

The tour will continue by bus, where participants will be informed of the city’s modes of transport, the challenges and operations.

At noon, they will visit the Electric Railways Museum in Piraeus, where they will have a chance to tour the museum founded in 2005 featuring a collection of books, leaflets, maps, photographs and documents related to the history of Athens-Piraeus Railway.

The “Better Life” program, a joint initiative of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and WWF Greece, is aimed at seeking ways to improve the standard of everyday living of city residents by raising awareness on environmental issues.
