New 20-Cent Fee at Greek Airports for Special Assistance Providers

airport_AMEAAll passengers departing from Greek airports will have to pay a new 20-cent charge to be included in the ticket price that will go towards special assistance service providers.

The fee, collected at all Greek airports overseen by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA), will be incorporated into the ticket and will be collected by the airlines on behalf of the Greek government, which will in turn compensate providers offering ground assistance services for disabled passengers and passengers with reduced mobility at all of the country’s airports.

Passengers under two, transit passengers and crewmembers are exempt from the fee.
