890 Hotels Under Construction in Europe

The Europe hotel development pipeline comprises 890 hotels totaling 141,558 rooms, according to the November 2014 STR Global Construction Pipeline Report.

The “under contract” data includes projects in the “in construction”, “final planning” and “planning stages” but does not include projects in the “unconfirmed stage”.

Among the markets in the region, Greater London, England, reported the most rooms under contract with 17,919 rooms.

Six other markets each reported more than 2,000 rooms Under Contract: Istanbul, Turkey (7,487 rooms); Manchester, England (4,362 rooms); Central Moscow, Russia (3,563 rooms); Greater Amsterdam, Netherlands (3,507 rooms); Greater Berlin, Germany (2,540 rooms); and Greater Munich, Germany (2,433 rooms).
