Germanwings Launches First Route to Cyprus
Germanwings, the low-cost subsidiary of Lufthansa Group, has launched its first ever flight to Cyprus.
On 1 November, Germanwings began weekly flights between Cologne Bonn and Larnaca. The route will operate every Saturday by the airline’s A319s.
According to an announcement, Germanwings’ flights will give passengers the opportunity to benefit from its extensive air-connection network to many European and other destinations offered by Lufthansa, which also includes SWISS, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines.
“Cyprus is a significant, all-year-round destination for holiday and business travelers, due to its strategic geographical position and warm climate,” the communications director of Germanwings, Andreas Engel, said.
The service between Cologne and Larnaca will also run through the summer.
