Seventy-two outbound tour operators from India are currently attending a mega familiarization trip in Greece to gain firsthand experience of what the country has to offer as a destination.

The fam trip is hosted by the Hellenic Association of Travel & Tourist Agencies (HATTA) and all guests are members of the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI).

The fam trip kicked off on 26 October and includes organized tours in Athens and Santorini, gala event and B2B meetings between Greek travel agents and Indian tour operators.

HATTA is hosting the fam trip for the OTOAI members to enhance their knowledge on Greece and to help them sell and further market the country in India.

“This fam trip gives a great opportunity to our country’s tourism professionals to substantially broaden their professional relationships,” HATTA said in an announcement.

The fam trip is being held within the framework of OTOAI’s annual meeting and workshop, which will be held in the Greek capital on 31 October.

It is reminded that in February 2014, Indian visitors of the OTM Travel Trade Show in India elected HATTA’s stand for the first award of “Favorite Destination” for their trips.

The association noted that the event was only the beginning of HATTA’s efforts in attracting international travel markets to Greece and that a series of events and programs will follow.
