Samsung Promotes Greece Via “Smart TVs”
The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and Samsung have joined forces to promote Greece as a tourism destination through the Korean company’s new generation Smart TVs.
According to the new cooperation, Samsung has included the country’s official tourism website www.visitgreece.gr within its application platform on Smart TVs (VISIT GREECE Samsung TV App).
At a press conference on 16 October, Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni noted that the new cooperation is another step on the long path of promoting Greek tourism through the new technology adopted by visitgreece.gr.
Owners of Samsung Smart TVs now have immediate access to information and rich audiovisual material about Greece, simply by pressing a button on the remote control.
The VISIT GREECE Samsung TV App combines content from www.visitgreece.com and Visit Greece’s profiles on social networks.
Mrs. Kefalogianni referred to www.visitgreece.gr as “Greece’s and Greek tourism’s key communication channel with the world.”
Greece’s official tourism website counts some one million words of content in Greek and has more than 10 million visitors. The Visit Greece newsletter is sent to over 16,000 recipients worldwide.
In regards to social media channels, Visit Greece currently has 1.5 million followers on Google and over 220,000 “likes” on Facebook. The Visit Greece Youtube channel counts over five million views.
