Greek Restaurant Among TripAdvisor Top 25 In The World

Tripadvisor toasted a Greek restaurant that has delighted its travel community members and their appetites.

According to the annual Travelers’ Choice awards for restaurants across the globe, the Funky Gourmet restaurant in Athens made the top 25 best in the world list for 2014. In total, 353 fine dining restaurant winners were identified.

Funky Gourmet was named the 19th best rated fine dining establishment in the world and 14th in Europe.

First place on the top 25 best in the world restaurant list for 2014 was the El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain.

“The Travelers’ Choice restaurant winners have won over the TripAdvisor community with their outstanding food, service and ambiance – the perfect ingredients for a memorable fine dining experience,” said Barbara Messing, chief marketing officer for TripAdvisor.

Among comments made by Tripadvisor users on the Funky Gourmet were “Best chef tasting I’ve ever had!!” and “A Unique and Distinct Experience.”

Travelers’ Choice awards honor top travel spots worldwide based on the millions of valuable reviews and opinions from TripAdvisor travelers. Award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews for restaurants worldwide, gathered over a 12-month period.
