Stranded Russian Tourists Should All Be Home By Next Week

russian_visaMore than 50 flights are expected to take place in the coming days to fly Russian tourists back home from Greece after they were stranded due to the collapse of tour operators Labirint and Intaer.

Since 2 August more than 20,000 Russians have been stranded in countries abroad including Greece, Cyprus, Spain and Bulgaria, without a return ticket.

According to reports, Russian travel fund Turpomosch managed to get some 9,500 travelers home from these countries via unscheduled flights from 2 to 6 August.

On 7 August unscheduled flights from Thessaloniki, Heraklio, Rhodes, Barcelona, Burgas, Kos and Efinda departed for Russia.

Turpomosch expects to have all stranded Russian tourists back home by 12 August. According to reports, until yesterday, the cost of the unscheduled flights had reached 35 million rubles.
