All Accommodation On Hydra, Greece, Now Categorized By Star Rating System
All hotels and lodges on Hydra have entered the internationally recognized star classification system, according to an announcement by the island’s hotel association.
Until recently, many of the island’s accommodation units that operate within traditional buildings were excluded from the star classification system . However, this was overturned with the enactment of Greek Law 4276/30.07.2014 and now all accommodation on the island officially have a “star” rating.
The Hydra Hotels Association said that through the new law, a longstanding problem had finally been solved.
“The aim and vision is for Hydra to be shown for what it really is and worth: a unique destination of high aesthetics, culture and leisure, with international appeal,” the association said.
Hydra is part of the island complex of the Argosaronic Gulf in southern Greece and free of wheeled vehicles. It is considered one of the most romantic destinations in the country.
