Survey: Mykonos, Greece, Among Most Expensive Global Destinations
The town of Mykonos Island in Greece is the seventh most expensive destination in the world in terms of hotel prices this summer, a survey on the summer 2014 travel trends for UK travelers said recently.
According to data from hotel comparison website Trivago, the average online hotel price per night in Mykonos Town is 244 euros (£ 194).
The data is based on searches made between 1 January and 15 June for travel during July and August 2014. Trivago compares rates from over 700,000 hotels on over 150 booking sites worldwide.
Switzerland is the most expensive country in the world, with four countries in the top ten averaging 247 euros per night. The cheapest destinations can be found in India and Southeast Asia, with only one European destination (Ravda in Bulgaria) making the top ten cheapest list.
