An open international tender for the 15-year leasing of Vouliagmeni Beach in Athens has attracted the interest of 26 candidates, press reports said recently. The tender was announced in May by the Public Properties Company (ETAD).

Among the 26 candidates that applied for the tender documentation are hotel businesses, catering companies, an overseas investment fund and one cruise company.

Along with the beach property, the tender includes the building complex “Okeanidas,” which was built in the 60s, but now stands closed.

Interested parties are invited to submit their bids by 29 July at ETAD’s office in Athens, on 7 Voulis Street.

Through the tender, ETAD aims for the organized beach to operate and service at least 2,500 visitors.

Vouliagmeni Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Attica. According to press reports, the beach was recently visited by 7,000 bathers in just one day.
