Vouliagmeni Lake To Host Posidonia Cup Regatta Award Ceremony
Vouliagmeni Lake, located on the South Coast of Athens by the seaside of the Saronic Gulf, is supporting this year’s 7th Posidonia Cup Yacht Race, which will take place on 30 May in Faliron Bay.
The sailing regatta celebrates the start of the international shipping exhibition Posidonia 2014 and is organized by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club (HORC) and Posidonia Exhibitions.
Participating in the challenging and fun race will be Posidonia exhibitors as well as members of the international shipping community. Offshore boats with crews from Greece and abroad will compete for the prestigious Posidonia Cup awards that occupy prominent positions in shipping offices around the world, as winning the regatta assures great publicity for the winners during and after Posidonia week.
The 7th Posidonia Cup Yacht Race is expected to attract more than 50 sailing yachts.
Vouliagmeni Lake will host the prestigious award ceremony of the race at its idyllic venue. Admission to the event requires the official invitation from the organizers.
Located 20 kilometers from Athens, Vouliagmeni Lake is a member of the Natura 2000 network and a protected wetland. The water of the Lake gushes from its water springs located 50 to 100m underground.
