Hellenic Seaplanes In Talks To Acquire Seastar CD2 Amphibious Aircraft
Greek company Hellenic Seaplanes is on the brink of sealing a deal worth millions of euros to acquire four seaplanes from German aircraft developer Dornier Seawings, according to an announcement.
Hellenic Seplanes is interested in acquiring the “Dornier Seastar,” a turboprop-powered, 12-seat, amphibious aircraft. The aircraft is a Seastar Model CD2 of top aerodynamic technology and comes with all European certifications.
The Dornier Seastar is all composite and powered by two reliable Pratt & Whitney PT-6 turboprop engines and features state-of-the-art cockpit avionics.
The interior design gives the impression of a luxurious means of transport as it has all the comfort systems of a regular passenger aircraft.
A representative of Hellenic Seaplanes has confirmed that the company is in “intensive negotiations” with Dornier Seawings and that further collaborations will soon be announced.
The Greek company is expected to order five to 10 seaplanes by the end of 2015 to launch flights in Greece.
