Greek Tourism: Good News From Norwegian Tour Operators
Greece should expect an especially good tourism season this year, tour operators in Norway recently informed Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni during her official visit to Oslo to promote the country.
During meetings with leading tour operators in Oslo, Mrs. Kefalogianni discussed ways to enrich travel packages to Greece to attract more tourists from Norway and the wider Scandinavian market.
More specifically, the Greek tourism minister met with tour operators Apollo, Star Tours, Ving and Lilleput and exchanged views aiming to develop new tourism products and travel destinations in Greece that will contribute to the extension of the season.
Discussions also focused on including new Greek destinations that have developed special forms of tourism (city breaks, agritourism, etc) in travel packages of Scandinavian tour operators.
Special importance was given to medical tourism, which is especially popular in Scandinavia and Norway in particular. The Greek tourism minister informed that Greece has set up the proper infrastructure to develop this form of tourism.
In addition, Mrs. Kefalogianni also gave an interview to Verdens Gang (VG), one of the largest newspapers in Norway and to two trade publications of high readership.
