Chinese Movie Filmed On Santorini, Greece, Hits Theaters In China

SAN_58_OiaLivadas_ChinaThe secretary general of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Panos Livadas, recently traveled to China to attend a special screening of a new Chinese film that was shot in Greece.

The film is a romantic comedy entitled “Beijing Love Story” and filming took place on Santorini Island with the support of the GNTO. According to reports, the name of Greece and the GNTO’s logo appeared in the film’s promo campaign.

The film took a fantastic opening with 2,500,000 Chinese viewers and grossed $33.15 million in its first four days after opening.

As part of the special screening, the GNTO offered five lucky newlyweds each a trip to Greece with all expenses paid.

During his stay in Beijing, Mr. Livadas attended meetings with Chinese officials and representatives of the Chinese tourism market.
