Santorini Chosen As One Of Europe’s Prettiest Cities By USA Today Readers
Greece’s popular island of Santorini has been ranked by the readers of the newspaper USA Today and 10Best as one of the 10 winners in the recent “Prettiest European City” contest.
According to information of 10Best published in USA Today Travel section, the winners in the “Prettiest European City” contest are as follows: Riga (Latvia), Bergen (Norway), Innsbruck (Austria), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Chester (England), Prague (the Czech Republic), Budapest (Hungary), Santorini (Greece), Venice (Italy), Bruges (Belgium).
For Santorini, 10Best commented: “The natural beauty of the Greek Islands reaches its crescendo on the island of Santorini, thanks in part to the quintessentially Greek blue and white color palate of the buildings and churches that cascade down the outside of a volcanic caldera toward the azure waters of the Aegean Sea. If the beauty of the city itself weren’t enough, the beaches here are postcard-perfect.”
According to 10Best.com, it is apparent early on that a trip to Europe makes a very lasting and positive impression upon a traveler. “Therefore we’d like to suggest this list of winners be used as a Bucket List for future travel,” 10Best.com commented.
A total of 20 European cities had been nominated.
