SETE will once again promote the initiative that sees gastronomy united with the marketing of Greek tourism, at the 9th International Hotel, Restaurant and Cafe Show HORECA to be held 7-10 February 2014 at the Athens Metropolitan Expo.

SETE’s event, scheduled for Saturday 8 February 2014, will include an open and productive debate on the competitive advantages of Greek gastronomy for the creation of a memorable travel experience.

At the last HORECA exhibition, SETE presented the growth opportunities offered by the connection of tourism and gastronomy at the event “Gastrotourism: Food for Development.”

At the 9th HORECA 2014, SETE will aim to combine the views of tourism and gastronomy experts on what exactly makes Greek cuisine unique.

During the upcoming event, those involved in the field will be invited to answer questions such as:

SETE_gastrotourism– How is gastronomy defined for a visitor?

– What is the interest of visitors during the visit?

– How can the “strong” points of Greek gastronomy blend a unique culinary experience?

The event aims to attract catering and hotel professionals; food and beverage representatives; companies that offer a range of products and services for hotel and catering establishments; primary sector businesses; dynamic companies of other sectors that are interested in associating their name with gastronomy and tourism; institutional representatives of local private and public agencies; academics and business consultants; and representatives of cultural agencies associated with the travel and culinary experience.

SETE_gastrotourism_1In its first year of implementation, SETE’s project “Gastronomy in the marketing menu of Greek tourism” has included the launch of a website for Greek cuisine and invites all who serve Greek tourism responsibly to get involved.

In this effort, SETE’s exclusive partners are Aegean Airlines and Eurobank. Supporters include companies Edenred, METAXA, Athens International Airport, Athenian Brewery and the Greek Wine Federation. Specialized media sponsors include Greek Travel Pages (GTP).
