World Travel Market 2013: The vice governor of the Region of South Aegean, Eleftheria Ftaklaki, giving an introduction of the region’s new website.

The World Travel Market in London got a preview of the Region of South Aegean’s soon-to-launch website that is aimed to effectively promote the tourism offering of the Greek islands.

The website aegeanislands.gr is expected to operate as a valuable tool and reference point for tourism professionals and journalists but also for visitors to the Aegean islands.

Users will have the opportunity to explore in detail all 48 islands of the region through content rich with primary information relating to gastronomy, geography, religion and a series of activities.

The content of the region’s new portal was compiled by a group of experienced journalists and will be frequently updated so users and visitors can plan their trip in accordance to recent and real-time information that will aim to enrich the leisure experience in the Aegean region.

The launch of the website www.aegeanislands.gr is planned for February 2014.

The construction of the new website was supervised by University of Crete Professor Yiorgos Vitsakis.
