Greece On Pace For Record Year In Tourism
International arrivals increased by 10.5 percent this August compared with the same month last year, according to data released on 6 September by the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE).
The temporary data collected from major Greek airports pointed to 9.9 percent increase in overall foreign tourist arrivals during the first eight months of 2013.
SETE President Andreas Andreadis said the image of international air arrivals in the first eight months of the year is highly positive.
“If they are combined with the pace of arrivals by other means (road and sea), which show even a better image, it is almost definite that we are referring to a new record year of 17.5 million international arrivals and 11.5 billion euros of direct revenue from tourism,” Mr. Andreadis said.
