Austrian Press Applauds The Cyclades
Santorini, Mykonos, Naxos and Paros were singled out in a recent travel feature published in Austrian newspaper Kurier.
“Four islands, out of a total of 27 islands of the Cyclades, have one thing in common: dreamy beaches with crystal clear waters, beautiful cities with the typical blue and white architecture and good accessibility by airplane or boat,” the article noted.
Santorini – Beauty
On Santorini, the newspaper focused on the beauty of the volcanic crater, the white houses nestled in the rocks and the unique sunset. “The southernmost of the islands, Santorini, offers the finest photographic patterns of the Mediterranean,” Kurier said.
However, the article pointed out thatSantorini’s idyllic picture is “overshadowed” by the fact that the island, which lives mainly from tourism, is almost “deserted” from October to April.
Mykonos – Intense
In regards to Mykonos, Kurier noted that no other island has such beautiful beaches, such a nice old town and such an intense nightlife.
Naxos – Natural paradise
Naxos was characterized as a “natural paradise,” an island that is green even in the summer, where one can also see the cultivation of local products, “something very rare in the Cyclades.”
Paros – Contrast
As for Paros, the article underlined that the island’s uniqueness lies in the fact that it is home to two small cities that are in constant competition for their beauty: Parikia and Naoussa.
The article in Kurier also included information on access, accommodation, attractions and entertainment options on the four islands of the Cyclades.
