Greek Enterprises To Get Financial Support For Alternative Tourism Investments
Over four hundred Greek enterprises that include hotels, travel agencies and catering companies will receive financial backing to invest in alternative forms of tourism, the Greek Tourism Ministry said yesterday, 20 February.
According to the ministry, 467 investment projects were evaluated and approved by Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni to be included in the “Alternative Tourism” program funded by the Operational Program “Competitiveness and Entrepreneurship” (OPCE II)*.
The “Alternative Tourism” program runs on a total budget of 50,062,364.07 euros (the State’s contribution amounts to 25,031,182.35 euros).
The program is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Greek Government and the funding of investment projects amounts to 50 percent of the approved budget.
The financial support is aimed to develop alternative tourism investment plans of businesses already in operation or that intend to operate in various Greek regions.
