TAP Portugal To Cut Athens-Lisbon Direct Route
The national airline of Portugal, TAP Portugal, announced it would stop the Athens-Lisbon direct flights after 26 October 2012.
According to the Portuguese airline, despite the positive response of the Greek market for direct routes between Portugal and Greece, the economic situation in both countries do not seem to favor its continuation, at least for the next summer season.
The last direct flight from Lisbon to Athens will be on 26 October 2012 (TP 882) and the last flight from Athens to Lisbon will take place on 27 October 2012 (TP 883).
The carrier informed that the route between Portugal and Greece will continue to run through code share flights in cooperation with Aegean Airlines, Lufthansa and Swiss International Air Lines via Rome, Milan, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona, Zurich and Geneva.
