Visa Centers To Open In Turkey
Deputy Culture and Tourism Minister George Nikitiadis last month paved the way for the creation of visa centers in Antalya and Bodrum (Halicarnassus) so to facilitate the movement of tourists to Rodos and Kos and other islands of the Dodecanese.
In Athens, the deputy minister held talks with Christabel Silva, general director of VFS Global, and Nami Ureyen, chairman of travel agency Yesil Dalyan, in regards to the function of a visa center first in Antalya and then in Bodrum.
Mr. Nikitiadis expressed his strong interest for the immediate operation of the visa centers and urged both sides to cooperate and reach a definitive agreement as soon as possible.
According to reports, the operation of visa centers would contribute to tourism growth on Rodos and Kos and other Dodecanese islands and make it easier for Russian tourists visiting Turkey that want to cross over to Greek destinations.
“Some three million tourists from Russia visit Antalya and the vast majority wish to visit the Greek islands,” Mr. Ureyen said.
