Hotel Chamber Explains “Greek Breakfast” Project
“The ‘Greek Breakfast’ project is an effort of great importance to improve the competitiveness of Greek hotels and for the promotion of Greek cuisine as a means for the development of Greek tourism,” the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels said last month.
In a meeting with journalists in February, the hotel chamber explained that the project aims to promote the “Greek Breakfast” philosophy as a product with basic features that would allow it to spread through the possibilities of modern marketing.
The “Greek Breakfast” project will be designed to highlight the local culture, ingredients and recipes from each region and adapt to the various types of breakfast and serving procedures.
The project is currently in an exploratory phase and is documenting which products are served in Greece today by small- medium- and large-sized hotels, city hotels and resorts in the countryside.
In order to document the current Greek breakfast trends, the chamber has posted an online questionnaire on its website and has invited its members to make suggestions and provide information on the breakfast they currently serve to hotel guests.
The hotel chamber will then publish an information manual for hoteliers with menu suggestions per area and a list that will describe the characteristics of each region’s cuisine with local adaptations.
