Deputy Minister’s Portfolio Is Defined
Greek Prime Minister Yiorgos Papandreou and Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos last month announced the responsibilities assigned to Culture and Tourism Deputy Minister Angela Gerekou.
According to the decision published in the Government Gazette, the deputy minister will undertake all services of the former Tourism Ministry and the services of the General Secretariat of Sports.
Culture and Tourism Minister Geroulanos will be responsible for the supervision of the Tourism Development Company (ETA), the Greek Organization of Football Prognostics (OPAP), the Greek International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, and the Agrotima SA Greek Sustainable Tourism Organization.
Mrs. Gerekou also has been given parliamentary duties but not legislative initiatives as they remain among the responsibilities of the Culture and Tourism Minister.
She has also been given the responsibility for the proposal of individual and regulatory decrees, as well as the issuing of individual and regulatory acts, and the co-signing of Presidential Decrees and resolutions together with other ministers, alternate ministers and deputy ministers.
Out of her responsibilities, Mr. Geroulanos will participate in the parliamentary duties and the responsibility for the issuing of individual and regulatory acts.
