SAAE Says No To Strikes
The Hellenic Association of Airline Representatives (SAAE) recently called for a solution to the continual operational problems of air traffic controlers and underlined that there must be no repeated strikes within the summer.
Air traffic controllers were to go on a 24-hour strike last month, which would have led to the cancellation of dozens of flights but called it off at the last minute.
According to a recent announcement of IATA, during the first half of 2009 the operating losses of airlines were the worst in decades and go beyond even the gloomiest forecasts.
The association said that Athens and Thessaloniki would soon be in a difficult position as there is a risk for an airline route disruption to take place as of this winter.
