Etihad Airways Launches Non-Stop Flights From Athens
Etihad Airways, the national airline of United Arab Emirates, recently announced the start of direct flights from Athens to Abu Dhabi as of 2 June.
Athens will initially be served three times a week and will increase to five services a week from October 2009 and then daily from the start of 2010. Etihad will operate Airbus A320s to Athens, configured to carry 140 passengers with 20 seats in business class and 120 in economy class.
For the launch period, Discover the World Marketing has been appointed service providers for the airline.
In addition, Etihad Airways announced that Dimitris Karagkioules has been appointed country manager for the carrier’s headquarters in Greece.
Mr. Karagkioules was the sales and marketing manager of Continental Airlines.
Etihad Airways’ global flight network now reaches 53 cities.
