Conference Tourism Becomes Research Topic
The tourism enterprises department of the Alexandreion Technological Education Institute of Thessaloniki, in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers, is conducting an experiential research project on infrastructure and human resources in Northern Greece in regards to conference tourism.
The survey will be carried out mainly through the Internet and will record and then evaluate the organization and operation of conference centers in Northern Greece. The survey will also explore the impact conference centers have on the modern tourism industry and local communities.
The online questionnaire is available on website: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s/83350/– and is mainly aimed at conference organizers and professionals of conference centers; hotels that have conference centers; municipalities and municipal enterprises; and educational institutions with conference halls.
The questionnaire will be available online until 10 January 2009 and the survey results will be presented at HAPCO’s 5th Panhellenic Congress for Conference Tourism entitled “Regional Development of Conference Tourism during a recession period,” which is to take place in Thessaloniki on 6-7 March.
