Ukraine Travel Show Sees Increased Interest
The Ukrainian Travel and Tourism Show UITT, to be held in March 2008 at the International Exhibition Center in Kiev, has seen a dramatic increase in interest from both local and international companies. The 2007 exhibition received some 850 companies from 58 countries and regions worldwide. In its fourth year, and already established by travel and tourism professionals as the main exhibition for tourism and travel in the Ukraine, the organizers announced a larger than average increase in participation of 29 percent from 2007.
One factor for this increase is the inclusion of several new markets such as the Czech Republic, Lebanon, Slovenia and Romania. Maria Badakh, event and sales director for UITT, claims the increase in interest is the result of “growing recognition of the huge potential in the Ukrainian travel and tourism market.” She added, “The rising number of Ukrainians taking holidays abroad, coupled with the growing number of inbound tourists, has created valuable opportunities for domestic and international companies.”
