Sabre to Provide Revenue Management to Aegean
Sabre Airline solutions has signed a major revenue management contract with Aegean Airlines. Aegean will use the product to control seat prices and availability, both by flight-leg and segment. It anticipates significant incremental revenue as a result. AirMax Revenue Manager features a comprehensive range of decision-support processes including data collection, forecasting, overbooking, optimization, alerting and performance measurement and reporting.
This is Sabre Airline Solutions first sale to Aegean, which operates an extensive codeshare partnership with Star Alliance stalwart Lufthansa. According to Aegean’s head of revenue management and pricing, Roland Jaggi, they chose AirMax because it tested best in the area of forecasting and operations research. Sabre Airline Solutions will host AirMax for Aegean and work closely with the airline’s revenue management department.
According to Murray Smyth, senior vice president of Sabre for Europe, “Aegean has a great product, brand and reputation so the AirMax solution and services will contribute to and support Aegean’s continued revenue growth and improved profitability.”
